The Shadow War

The past and future are different planets, but the shadow war remains the same. In the Alpha Era, absolute worldly power is not won with military might, but through the psychic subjugation of reality itself. Mega-corporations wage a silent, invisible war using Morphons—highly volatile psychic operatives drafted from the criminal underworld.

The Psifront

The true war is fought within the Psifront, a shared mental battlefield layered over reality. Corporations deploy their Morphons to physical Locations plagued by spacetime anomalies, seeking to attune them to the Psiweb.

Psitifuge & Extinction

By executing precise, devastating psychic aptitudes—from subliminal data-purges to neural hemorrhages—these operatives bend reality to their corporation's will. The faction that exerts the most mental dominance when the Underworld runs dry will rewrite the future in their image. The rest will be permanently erased.

Psifuge Rules

Setup & Credits

• 80-Card Deck: 70 Common Morphons (7 per attribute) + 10 Renowned Morphons.
• Factions & Initiative: Coin-flip winner drafts their Faction last and plays first.
• Board & Hand: 6 Psifront lanes (1–6) and a private 6-card hand (refilled from the deck after every play or cycle).
• Shadow Credits (SC): P1 starts with 3 SC; P2 starts with 5 SC. Gain +3 SC each turn. Bank up to 2 SC at end of turn.

How to Win

• 20+ Points (Instant Win): Reach 20+ Total Points (Base PTS + +3 PTS per active Morphon + turn Bonus PTS) to win immediately—even on an opponent's turn. Bonus points expire at end of turn.
• Deck Empty: When the deck and all hands are empty, highest Total Points wins.

Turn Actions (Must Play 1+ Card)

• Card Cost: 2 SC, or 1 SC if the card matches your Faction's two attributes.
• Draft Common Morphon (0–4 PTS): Place into any lane (1–6), replacing any Morphon there, and choose:
  • Attack the opposing Morphon in the same lane (if its total PTS ≤ yours; removes 1 Counter or discards it), OR
  • Activate Ability, OR pay +1 SC (Boost) to do both!
  • You may also draft directly to the Discard Pile to only trigger its Ability.
• Activation (+3 PTS) & Passives: Blue bar rules check your Psifront (+3 PTS); Red bar rules check your opponent's Psifront (+3 PTS); Green bar Morphons have base PTS (1–4), count as active for Uplink, and grant a constant passive effect while in your Psifront.
• Agility (A): Agile Morphons can only be attacked by other Agile Morphons.
• Play Renowned Morphon (0 PTS): Single-use event sent to the Discard Pile (and logged in your Exhaust Pile) for its custom effect.

10 Attributes (Common Morphons)

• Neuralbleed: Discard 1 opponent Morphon.
• Zero-State: Opponents discard their highest-base-point Morphon(s).
• Pre-Cog: Look at top 3 deck cards; discard 1, keep 2 on top.
• Deep-Dive: Reveal an opponent's hand and draw 1 card from it into your hand (instead of drawing from the deck); that opponent draws a replacement card from the deck.
• Data-Purge: Discard up to 2 hand cards and draw replacements.
• Grid-Shift: Gain 2 Free Shifts (move a Morphon to another lane).
• Overclock: Gain +2 bonus points this turn.
• Uplink: Gain +1 bonus point per active Morphon in your Psifront.
• Surge: Gain +1 SC.
• Firewall: Place Psifuge Counters on up to 2 of your Morphons (max 1 each; blocks 1 attack or discard).

10 Renowned Morphons (Events)

• Sable Ianthe (Neuralbleed): Destroy up to 2 opponent Morphons (ignores counters) and gain +2 bonus points.
• Dr. Marrow Quill (Zero-State): Opponent discards highest-base Morphon(s) (ignores counters) and gain +3 bonus points.
• Oriel Tennant (Pre-Cog): Pre-Cog, then gain 3 Free Cycles and +2 bonus points.
• Pilgrim Ostrander Wren (Deep-Dive): Hand size +1 for the rest of the game, and gain 1 Free Draft this turn.
• Inquisitor Ysolde Null (Data-Purge): Discard any number of hand cards and redraw; gain +3 bonus points.
• Kestrel Voss (Grid-Shift): Unlimited Free Shifts (yours or opponent's) and +3 bonus points this turn.
• Rook "Redline" Ashby (Overclock): Gain +6 bonus points this turn.
• Director Halcyon Vesk (Uplink): Gain +2 bonus points per active Morphon in your Psifront (up to +12).
• Juno Blaze (Surge): Gain +5 SC.
• Warden Cassian Thorne (Firewall): Place Counters on all of your Morphons and gain +3 bonus points.
